Corinthia Price elected President of the International Association of School Librarianship!

Dr. Corinthia Price, a globally recognized literacy advocate, international researcher, and Fulbright Specialist Scholar, has been elected President of the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL) for the 2026–2029 term! Alongside her historic election, it was announced that Dr. Price will be a featured speaker at the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). Her presentation is held July 15 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, a premier branch of the New York Public Library. She will address critical global initiatives that bridge literacy, information equity, and sustainable growth.
As IASL President, Dr. Price will champion the vital role of school libraries worldwide, spearhead global literacy initiatives, and lead IASL’s executive board, regional directors, and special interest groups into a new era of cross-cultural collaboration. She brings a wealth of high-level national and international expertise to the presidency. As a Fulbright Specialist Scholar with the U.S. Department of State, she regularly provides global literacy expertise to universities, government agencies, and NGOs, advising on policy, developing curricula, and designing targeted training programs. She has earned widespread acclaim, including the 2025 Library Journal “Mover and Shaker Award.”
In addition to her new role at IASL, Dr. Price serves as the Chair of Reading and Literacy for the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), as an Executive Board Member of the American Library Association (ALA), and as a Steering Committee member of Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy. Additionally, she serves on the New York State Board of Regents Advisory Council on Libraries. Looking toward her tenure as President, Dr. Price concluded, "I look forward to collaborating and partnering with UNESCO Literacy, the Global Alliance for Literacy (GAL), a UNESCO-led international network advancing literacy worldwide, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 and SDG 10 to advance literacy and reading and address global inequalities."
