Donna Y. Ford receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council for Exceptional Children, honoring an individual who makes continued and sustained contributions to positive outcomes for children and youth with exceptionalities! In the announcement, a nominator is quoted as saying, “She’s not afraid to be in the trenches doing the work, and she also collaborates with others to find systemic, comprehensive, equitable solutions to societal problems.” Donna is currently a professor at The Ohio State University, and she previously served as a professor at Vanderbilt University and an associate professor at the University of Virginia. We honor her for her career-long work as a researcher and a practitioner and for everything she has accomplished on behalf of special needs students!
