Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt gets #celebratED for being appointed Senior Adviser to State Superintendent on Agencywide School Improvement at the Virginia Department of Education! She has also been named a Superintendent-In-Residence with the ILO Group, a national firm supporting education decisionmakers navigating the challenges and opportunities facing school leaders today. ACPS schools are horrible. This is nothing to celebrate. Have you talked to residents in Alexandria about their public school experience? Why would you want someone who has done a terrible job joining your team? To name just a few problems of ACPS..... Low expectations for students and staff, administrators who aren't doing their jobs, no leadership, low staff morale, it's impossible for many families to get help, staff does not email families back or provide services requested, budget issues...I could go on and on. This says a lot of the superintendent at the state level. They hired someone who the community of Alexandria thinks did a horrible job. No wonder so many Virginias are switching to private sch…
