Kate Lemerich is honored as the February 2025 Sustainability Hero by Sustainable Jersey for Schools, a free, voluntary certification program for preK-12 public schools in New Jersey. The program provides guidance, support, and recognition to schools that implement steps to be sustainable in their operations and proactive in preparing students for the challenges they will face in the future. Kate is recognized for her vision, collaborative spirit and commitment to driving meaningful change. Under her leadership, the Metuchen School District was honored with the 2024 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award. We applaud Kate on this recognition and celebrate her for all the ways she makes a difference in the lives of students and her community!
