LaTonya Goffney named recipient of the Highland Innovation Award!

LaTonya Goffney gets #celebratED for being named the recipient of the Highland Innovation Award, presented annually to a superintendent dedicated to pioneering new ways to drive student achievement. In accepting this honor, LaTonya said, “While my name may be on the award, the credit belongs to the incredible teachers, staff, and leaders of Aldine ISD. Even in the face of significant challenges, their unwavering commitment to our students makes progress possible every day. This honor truly belongs to the entire district.” Before leading Aldine, LaTonya was Superintendent for the Lufkin, Texas Schools, and she is the current President-Elect of AASA, The School Superintendents Association. We congratulate her for all the impact she has on professional education, and we look forward to following her next steps in her leadership journey!
