Shellon Samuels-White gets #celebratED for presenting “When Imagination Meets Innovation: Storytelling as a Pathway to STEAM–SEL Habits of Mind” at Church Teachers College’s Special Education Conference in Mandeville, Jamaica, where teachers engaged in rich dialogue around storytelling, creativity, and inclusive practices that support the whole child. Shellon is the Student Assessment Officer and a lecturer at The Mico University College in Kingston Jamaica and a Worthy Educator Leader. She also recently published “Why Fix What Isn’t Broken? Challenging Longstanding Assessment Practices in Higher Education Teacher-Training Institutions” in the current issue of our Legacy Journal and you can view her author interview here. We know these past months Jamaica has been recovering from a direct hit from category 5 Hurricane Melissa, and we are heartened to see Shellon active again as a leader in Jamaican educator professional learning!
