Phelton Cortez Moss gets #celebratED for receiving the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Education Distinguished Early Career Faculty Award! He is a leader in advancing equity, diversity, and innovation in education, serving as a Fellow in the Center for Education Innovation at the NAACP, where he supports the development and implementation of research-based strategies to improve educational outcomes for Black students and communities. He designed and launched the nation's first state-run teacher residency program, advised members of Congress on various national education issues, and led the transformation of an underperforming middle school as the youngest serving principal in Mississippi. We applaud Phelton for this honor and for his passion for policies and practices that promote anti-racism, accountability, and excellence in education!
